Alaska Waters’ new flagship vessel, the CHUTINE WARRIOR is 36’ long, weighs 15,000 pounds and was built by Bentz Boats of Lewiston, Idaho. This is the second boat Bentz has built for Alaska Waters and these boats are especially well suited for the application in which Alaska Waters uses them. The new vessel adds a whole new dimension to the meaning of comfort in Wilderness Adventure jet boating. The CHUTINE WARRIOR is equipped with twin Cummins QSB 355 hp diesel engines. The combined 710 hp provide a cruise speed of 42 mph. It has a carrying capacity of 23 passengers but usually carries 12 to 18 passengers on day tours and long range Safaris to Telegraph Creek. These Safaris take passengers 165 miles up the Stikine River to the head of navigation and guests stay overnight (3 nights) in Wilderness Lodges. The Safaris include jet boat excursions deep into the Grand Canyon of the Stikine River in the CHUTINE WARRIOR. The part of the Grand Canyon that is explored is host to Class III, IV and V white water.
The CHUTINE WARRIOR is the only jet boat operating out of Wrangell, Alaska with a full service, flushing marine head. It has a small galley with sink and running water as well as a refrigerator.
Captain Jim Leslie has more than 20,000 hours experience operating boats in SE Alaska and loves to share his world with visitors in the impressive and comfortable CHUTINE WARRIOR. Click VIDEO to see our exciting Chutine Warrior video.
