Prime Wildlife Viewing: July through August

Each summer thousands of spawning salmon attract Brown Bears, Black Bears, Bald Eagles, and seals that feed in the lagoon. We are the only company that operates on "Animal Time" for the best viewing opportunities. The AnAn Observatory is located 35 miles southeast of Wrangell on the mainland's Cleveland Peninsula.

STIKINE RIVER CRUISE

DAY TOUR
Enjoy jet boating the tributaries of the Stikine River! It is an international river over 350 miles long and the fasterst, free flowing river in North America. The river is fed by over 100 glaciers and is one of the most ecologically diverse rivers in Alaska.

May - August
Jet boat to Andrews Creek, a clear freshwater creek, and watch the spawning salmon. Navigate slowly through a maze of topaz blue icebergs to Chief Shakes Glacier and view the solid granite cliffs thousands of feet high. The Stikine River is prime habitat for many species of Alaskan wildlife including moose, bear, eagles, wolves & deer.

STIKINE DELTA WILDLIFE

DAY TOUR

Visit "Mother Nature's Zoo"! Every spring, waterfowl and wildlife abound on the Stikine River Delta all because of one little fish.

Viewing season: April 1 - May 15.
Delta Tours are scheduled to coincide with Alaska's Annual Stikine River Garnet Festival. The festival is held every third week in April. The celebration includes golf tournaments, live concerts, birding workshops, live bird demonstrations, public market, arts & crafts fair.
The river is hosts largest springtime concentration of American Bald Eagles in the world. The delta is a major stopover on the Pacific Fly-Way for approximately 200,000 shorebirds and up to 15,000 Snow Geese and over 10,000 Sand Hill Cranes. Approximately 123 different species of birds are represented annually on the delta.

LECONTE GLACIER BAY & PETERSBURG, "ALASKA'S LITTLE NORWAY"

Visit " the other Glacier Bay"! LeConte Glacier Bay is North America's southern most, tide water glacier. The fjord is a haven for hundreds of Harbor Seals and their pups. The glacier calves frequently filling the bay with beautiful blue icebergs. Our jet boats are very maneuverable and can efficiently navigate around the ice floes that tend to block the bay.

         

LeConte's 10 mile fjord boasts a large population of Harbor Seals and their pups. The protected waters of the bay serve as a breeding, birthing and rearing site for Harbor Seals. June is the best month to see seal pups on the icebergs. The tour includes a visit to the fishing village of Petersburg, known as “Alaska’s Little Norway”. The community offers excellent shopping and delicious seafood.

ALASKA ISLAND HIGHLIGHTS & CULTURAL TOUR

A great orientation to the island, its history& people! Wrangell’s only regularly scheduled island tour.

May - August
Enjoy a personalized tour of Wrangell’s most popular attractions in the comfort of a 7-passenger van.  This tour is fully narrated and gives you an orientation of the island and its attractions. Four great sites are visited, the Wrangell Museum, Kik-Setti Totem park, Chief Shakes Tribal House and Petroglyph Beach.  The tour departs from and returns to 107 Stikine Avenue. Guests will be met by their Alaska Native Driver/Guide and escorted to all sites
.

2.5 Hour, professionally guided tour includes: Alaska Native Driver/Guide, 4 Great Sites with all entrance fees, souvenir Petroglyph rubbing and complimentary beverages. Umbrellas are available for guests to use if it is raining.
